Welcome to my practice.
Becoming your best self, managing natural life transitions, and staying on top of daily stressors takes work. It can be particularly challenging if you are experiencing an unexpected life transition, struggling with emotion regulation, engaging in unhealthy behaviors, or feeling distress and unfulfillment in your relationships. I have been working from a client-centered approach for over 20 years and work to achieve supportive, nonjudgmental and collaborative relationships with my clients. My approach draws from my background training in family systems, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I work collaboratively with clients to determine their treatment goals and work through the barriers that prevent them from realizing them. I may help you process change and loss, offer strategies and tools to increase coping skills, and suggest working with significant others to improve communication and disrupt unhelpful patterns.
Additionally, I have been working for almost two decades with clinical psychology doctoral students as Director of The Meltzer Center for Psychological and Community-based Services in the Department of Psychologicial and Brain Sciences at The George Washington University. I am also available to provide therapy to students and consultation to early career professionals in the mental health field.
